In order to beat Liverpool to the midfielder’s signature, Wayne Rooney has dubbed Jude Bellingham “the hottest youngster in world football” and urged Manchester United to do so.
Prior to Bellingham’s move to Borussia Dortmund, where he has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the game, United had attempted to sign Bellingham from Birmingham City in 2020.
The 19-year-old, who will play for England at the World Cup in Qatar, is said to have piqued United’s interest once again, according to recent reports.
Liverpool, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are just a few of the clubs vying to sign him next summer, so they will face stiff competition.
However, Rooney believes that United can push their way to the front of the line because Bellingham is a player that his former team “could use.”
When asked if the English starlet should be targeted by United, Rooney responded to talkSPORT by saying he hopes so and that he stays away from Liverpool and Manchester City.
He was confident that they were doing their jobs, though, as he is currently the most desirable young player in world football.
United, who tried to sign him a few years ago, he was certain were also looking at that. United right now could use a player like him.
Rooney also recalled the moment he realized Bellingham was destined for greatness when the youngster “left a stud on him” while the DC United manager was playing for Derby in the Championship.
When he was at Derby and Birmingham, he played Bellingham. And he man-marked me throughout the game. He estimates that he was around 16, possibly even just 17, and what he liked about him was that every time he passed the ball off, he’d leave a stud in on me.
