Earlier this week, Thomas Tuchel gave a clear indication of who might be the next person to leave Chelsea.
Although Chelsea has already signed six new players and is still working on more, the upcoming week will also likely witness several exits.
Marcos Alonso, Billy Gilmour, Ross Barkley, Baba Rahman, and other players were seen working out with the youth squad in one of the photographs that were made public. All four have been strongly rumored to leave Chelsea after failing to make any of the three matchday selections for Chelsea in the Premier League thus far.
Following the opening-day 1-0 victory at Everton, Tuchel said that Alonso, a target for Barcelona, intended to pursue a transfer. According to the Blues manager, we granted their request for them to leave, so it would never have made sense for them to have him on the field today.
Both Brighton and Everton are rumored to be interested in Gilmour, a midfielder who is eager to reunite with former manager Frank Lampard at Goodison Park. It’s believed that Barkley was also courted by his previous team earlier in the summer. However, they appear to have decided against accepting the offer, leaving his future uncertain.
Rahman is reportedly being actively watched by Championship Reading in the meantime.
Beyond these four, players like Kenedy, Michy Batshuayi, Ethan Ampadu, and Trevoh Chalobah are still on the outside of Tuchel’s plans and might be on their way out of the club within the next week.

Fofana wants to come to Stamford Bridge this summer, but the two clubs have not yet been able to agree on a price after Chelsea’s most recent offer, which is thought to be worth £60 million with a potential £10 million in add-ons, was turned down.
After Leicester’s Carabao Cup triumph against Stockport on penalties, Brendan Rodgers revealed Fofana was working out with the club’s U23 team. Fofana had missed a training session the week prior.
Chelsea has also had a proposal for attacker Gordon from Everton rejected, with the London club reportedly coming back with a higher offer in the coming days.
Gordon’s current contract with Everton expires in June 2025, and a new one is on the table, but rumors claim the young player has made it clear he’d prefer to move to Stamford Bridge.
