Rio Ferdinand advises Man Utd to sign £53m striker in place of Wout Weghorst.

Rio Ferdinand feels that Mehdi Taremi of Porto would have been a better option for Manchester United than Wout Weghorst.

United is searching for a new striker this month. Weghorst is currently on loan from Burnley to Besiktas and is expected to be signed after extensive negotiations.

The first offer from Erik ten Hag’s side is already a dis. They try to convince Besiktas to revoke Weghorst’s loan for the entire season.

Ferdinand thinks Taremi should be acquired by United, though. In 20 games this season for Porto, he has scored 14 goals. The 30-year-old made a strong World Cup impression for Iran by scoring twice in the team’s 6-2 loss to England.

Taremi’s contract with Porto has a €60 million (£53 million) release clause to expire in 2024.

On the YouTube program Vibe with Five, Ferdinand responded to a question about, United’s Weghorst acquisition by saying, “I’d have gone and got Taremi in from Porto.”

Harry Kane of Tottenham is a striker United should target in the summer transfer window, according to Ferdinand.

“Spurs supporters, let Harry Kane in.” I apologize, but he won’t be successful at Spurs, and you won’t win anything. Invoking Ferdinand.

“They currently seem to be in some turmoil. Find a No. 9 for Man United this summer. Where are you going to score 20, 25, or more goals per season for the next three to four years so we can hang our hat on it?”

“You take a risk if you play outside of the Premier League. The level is irrelevant to me unless you’re speaking to [Kylian] Mbappe. All risks exist outside of that.”

“It’s huge money, 100 million, 120 million,’ said Victor. I’m charging you, Osimhen. They cost a lot of money, which you pay.”

“Harry Kane will cost you a lot of money.” But at least you’ll be getting a player who can score 20, 25, or more goals per season. Considering that the player scores 20, or 25 goals, we can ask, “Does he suit the play?” There is only one place Harry Kane could go: Man United.
