Real Madrid interested in signing Alphonso Davies
Alphonso Davies is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, claims Spanish outlet Defensa Central. The wide receiver from Bayern Munich is the Merengues’ top priority during the summer transfer window. But given his €70 million market value, the Bundesliga champions will probably demand a huge sum.
Alphonso Davies joined Bayern Munich from the Vancouver Whitecaps and has since developed into one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga. The 22-year-old winger was a promising young player when he arrived at the Allianz Arena. But Hansi Flick shaped him into a left-back, a position he still plays for the Bavarian powerhouses.
The Canadian international’s market value has increased to €70 million in the recent years. The young player has made more than 150 appearances for Bayern, contributing eight goals and 25 assists. Additionally, a number of prestigious clubs, including Real Madrid, have expressed interest in Davies’s development.
There were numerous rumors in March that Real Madrid might sign Davies during the summer 2024 transfer window. But Florentino Perez wants to inspire the team after a disastrous 2022–23 campaign that resulted in only the Copa del Rey. And he is giving the addition of a left-back in the summer top priority.
Consequently, Davies has become a potential target for the upcoming summer transfer window. And according to recent reports, if the chance arises, the wide receiver for Bayern Munich wants to join Real Madrid. And the 22-year-old’s attention might be diverted by a Los Blancos approach.
But Bayern Munich will probably fight hard to keep Davies on after the summer transfer window closes. If need be, the Bundesliga champions are likely to demand more than €70 million to get rid of the Canadian international. However, the Merengues are financially secure enough to pay €70 million to sign the young player.
It will be interesting to see if Perez’s desire to strengthen Real Madrid’s left-back position prompts them to put forth an offer for Davies. The 22-year-old wide man’s current top target is the wide player for Bayern Munich.
