Manchester United acquire Randal Kolo Muani
According to Football Insider, Manchester United has contacted Eintracht Frankfurt about a possible move for Randal Kolo Muani. The French striker was on their shortlist for a marquee forward. But his potential £85 million asking price might be a deal-breaker.
Manchester United has yet to make their first signing of the summer, which has increased pressure from the fan base. Erik ten Hag is aware of the position that needs improvement and will be bringing in a star striker during this transfer window.
Without a suitable marksman in his lineup, Ten Hag struggled last season. He wants to rely on someone other than the unreliable Anthony Martial. It’s uncertain whether Wout Weghorst will stick around past June 30. So, before the season ended, they closely followed a few well-known figures but had made no real progress.
Harry Kane and Osimhen were their top two targets before the campaign was over, but they were out of money. They have considered other candidates, including Goncalo Ramos, but once more, the price point stands out as a problem. Each name has a price tag of £100 million or more, effectively pricing them out.
Rasmus Hojlund, a star for Atalanta, was linked, but Ten Hag might not want to make a significant investment in a young, inexperienced forward. They might therefore reevaluate their interest in Randal Kolo Muani given that Eintracht Frankfurt is willing to sell for the right price.
The 23-goal attacker is wanted for £85 million, which could be problematic for Manchester United. Because Kolo Muani also had 17 assists across all competitions last season, there is more than enough justification for this price.
Manchester United must make a difficult choice in their pursuit of a star striker. The Frenchman falls into the age range of the latter option when compared to their other choices, which include Hojlund, Kane, and Osimhen. He has a bright future and might be worthwhile as an investment.
