Lukaku decides his future with Chelsea, and negotiations scheduled next month.
To keep the striker at the club, Chelsea and Inter Milan will meet to discuss Romelu Lukaku’s future.
The Belgian international returned to Inter in the summer of 2021 after a disastrous first season in the Premier League during the 2021–22 campaign. For the loan agreement, the Serie A team paid € 8 million plus € 3 million in add-ons.
Additionally, the 29-year-old has had a challenging season in Italy. With 11 appearances during a season where he was injured and out of form, he managed just two goals.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter is eager to extend his stay with the team for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Lukaku wants to stay with the Nerazzurri and has no plans to be back at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea made a then-club-record signing of the former Everton and Manchester United striker for £97 million. Chelsea, however, is unlikely to get back even a portion of that for the player.
Inter is interested in securing another loan this summer and hopes to do so for less money than they spent the previous season.
In addition, a matchup between Inter and Chelsea is probably going to happen in March.
Christopher Nkunku
Chelsea has spent more than £500 million on new players since last summer, not including the £52 million agreement they reached with RB Leipzig for Christopher Nkunku in the summer.
With 17 goals in 23 appearances, the France international is having another productive season in Germany. But Chelsea supporters are optimistic that he can succeed in west London as a center-forward.
However, Nkunku is adamant that playing behind the striker is his best position, leaving Chelsea looking for a new center forward this summer. Additionally, Chelsea is reportedly pursuing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
“I believe that (attacking midfield) is a position that suits me well.” Behind a striker close to the goal,” Nkunku said.
“I always enjoy playing this role because it nicely describes me as a player.”
