James Maddison’s admission to Man United and his ‘dream’ of playing at Old Trafford amid transfer rumors

Maddison, a midfielder for Leicester, has already acknowledged that playing at Old Trafford allowed him to realize a childhood fantasy.

This summer, Manchester United has been mentioned as a potential destination for the England international. Recent reports state that he might leave his current club whether or not they remain in the Premier League.

Given his impressive performance at the King Power Stadium since joining Norwich City in 2018, the possibility of his possible arrival at Old Trafford will undoubtedly appeal to United fans, but it’s also possible that the player himself is looking forward to it.

The 26-year-old Maddison, a lifelong United supporter, has previously cited Wayne Rooney as his favorite Premier League player in history.

The midfielder has already acknowledged that his Premier League debut for Leicester against United in August 2018 was a career-high.

Maddison was questioned about his career’s encounters with opponents he hadn’t anticipated in a 2019 interview with Sky Sports. Maddison responded, “I think my Premier League debut was the one. Manchester United was away and standing in the tunnel at Old Trafford. Pogba and company watch as Mourinho passes by. I simply said, “I’m here, I’ve arrived.” It’s time to go demonstrate my abilities to everyone now.

“Since you have worked so hard to achieve those moments, I don’t believe you should take them for granted. Since it’s my debut, it’s important to keep things in perspective.

Thoughts like, “I just played at Old Trafford in the Premier League, something I dreamed about as a young boy,” came to mind after the game.

Maddison previously admitted to being a Manchester United fan in an interview for the Amazon Prime documentary Rooney.

When asked about his favorite player to watch, Rooney, a United supporter, said: “He’s one of my favorites. Wayne Rooney’s goals against Croatia in Euro 2004 as an 18-year-old are among my earliest football memories.
