Jadon Sancho’s new position under Erik ten Hag pleases Manchester United supporters.
Jadon Sancho demonstrated to Manchester United supporters why Erik ten Hag was correct to use him in a different position on Sunday against Leicester.
Sancho’s mega £73 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford in 2021 has so far fallen short of expectations.
The young Englishman is a Manchester City academy graduate and plays for the opposing team across town. When he switched to the Red Devils from Dortmund, Sancho was one of the most exciting young players in football. He has, however, had trouble maintaining his form and consistency at United under three different managers.
Sancho started United’s 3-0 victory over Leicester on Sunday from the sidelines. He lit up Old Trafford, though, as he made his entrance at the start of the second half.
Sancho is a winger by profession, but Ten Hag just devised a strategy to make the most of his gifted youngster. It performed flawlessly when applied to the Foxes.
Bruno Fernandes occupied a position on the right flank while Sancho played as a number 10 rather than out wide.
Sancho appeared to be a perfect match for the new position. He displayed all of his technical prowess and vision. He received a goal for his outstanding cameo, which he scored by steering Fernandes’ cutback into the back of the net to seal the outcome.

Sancho’s potential in his new role undoubtedly delighted United supporters on Twitter.
“In the squad’s present form, I believe. Sancho as the 10 “makes the most sense,” according to @Casey Evans. “Garnacho and Rashford favor the left, and neither right back really offers him the required support,” one defender said.
“With Sancho 10 and Bruno RW, United appear more fluid. Their football philosophies and possession-based styles are better suited to their different responsibilities. @Adroit Cadet said, “Conductor and direct creator.
Some others even became a touch emotional, as evidenced by @UTDlegendary’s tweet: “That Sancho performance at 10… I’m affected.”
“£100m on a right winger when Bruno RW and Sancho #10 was the solution,” @utdcynical tweeted in reference to Antony’s own lack of form.
My world has been turned upside down by Sancho #10-. perfect place for him.”
