Gabriel Martinelli to receive significant pay raise with Arsenal’s new contract to discourage Barcelona’s interest.
A new Arsenal contract will result in Gabriel Martinelli’s pay increase. According to reports, this discourages Barcelona’s interest in a transfer.
Martinelli’s impressive performances for Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar have Barcelona interested in signing him.
The 21-year-old was an unexpected addition to Tite’s 26-man squad, and even though he has only made cameo appearances, he has done enough to catch the attention of the Catalan powerhouses.
In the summer of 2019, Martinelli, a complete unknown, transferred from Ituano to the Gunners. Under Mikel Arteta, he has since emerged as a crucial player.
For 14 Premier League games for Arsenal so far this season, he has tallied five goals and two assists. His team of Arteta leads the table by five points.
The Contract
Martinelli’s current contract pays him about £70,000 per week and lasts until June 2024. However, according to reports, the Brazilian is reportedly about to agree to a new agreement that will pay him about £200,000 per week.
Already, Martinelli has insisted that he is prepared to sign the new deal. Additionally, he has no plans to quit the club where he received his big break as a teenager.
He said last month: “Knowing Arsenal wanted to buy me was one of the happiest days of my life.”

“At Arsenal, I’m very content.” I’ve said it several times. My club is this one. I enjoy being here because I love Arsenal, the city, and the club. I want to remain. Just a pen is needed, and I’m overjoyed.”
“It was one of the happiest days of my life when I found out Arsenal wanted to buy me,” the player said.
“I don’t give a damn. I’d like to remain. In the following game, I hope to score, perform well, and support my team in a victory.”
