FIFA ANNOUNCES ARGENTINA AS THE HOST COUNTRY FOR THE FIFA U-20 WORLD CUP 2023
According to the FIFA Council Bureau, Argentina will host the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023TM.
The choice was made in response to the elimination of Indonesia as the initial host of the competition. The AFA’s subsequent bid, as well as the FIFA delegation’s on-site visit to the South American country last week. Members of the delegation went to see the infrastructure and tournament sites. The AFA has signed the hosting agreement and all other necessary paperwork on behalf of the host and local government.
From May 20 to June 11, 2023, six groups of four teams will compete in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Argentina will perticipate in the competition in place of Indonesia. Because they were given the hosting rights to the event. Argentina has won the FIFA U-20 World Cup six times, most recently in 2007. It is the country with the most victories in the tournament’s history. The event was held in the nation in 2001 as well.

According to FIFA President Gianni Infantino, “FIFA is delighted to announce that this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup will take place in Argentina, as the home of the world champions opens its doors to the tomorrow’s superstars of world football.” I want to express my gratitude to the AFA, in particular to its president Claudio Tapia, as well as to the government officials for agreeing to host this magnificent event so quickly.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023TM Official Draw will take place on Friday, April 21, at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, following the announcement of the new hosts. We’ll provide more details as soon as we can.
