Erling Haaland broke the Premier League record for goals scored in a season with 35. Manchester City defeated West Ham 3-0 to retake the lead.
At Etihad Stadium, the 22-year-old Norwegian striker made it 2-0 for the defending champions in the 70th minute.
By scoring against Fulham on Sunday, Haaland tied the previous mark held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
With his most recent goal, he also took the lead for the most Premier League goals in a season.
In a remarkable first season at City, Haaland has now scored 51 goals across all competitions.
Given that Shearer and Cole established the previous record during a time when the league consisted of more than 42 games. Haaland accomplishment is all the more remarkable.
With Jack Grealish cutting inside and firing from a tight angle against the outside of the post, City quickened the pace in response.
The Spanish player was then put through on goal after a combination between Haaland and Rodri. But his low shot hit the base of the post and rolled across the goal.
