Erik ten Hag urges Manchester United to sign Amadou Onana.
Manchester United may make a strong effort to sign Amadou Onana, claims Football Insider. Since joining Everton, the 21-year-old has excelled, and several major European clubs are keeping an eye on him. The player’s admirer Erik Ten Hag wants to bring him to Old Trafford for the upcoming season.
After a standout debut season for LOSC Lille, Onana entered the spotlight. His performances led to a £33 million transfer to Everton before the current season. The 21-year-old is one of their best players and has had a quick start.
In the 32 games the Belgian international has participated in, three of his goals have had assists. The 21-year-old has undoubtedly contributed while the Toffees have struggled. The future of Onana is uncertain with Everton in danger of going down.
While his current club contract runs through the summer of 2027, his future is dependent on whether they avoid relegation. The 21-year-old will push for a departure if they are not successful in surviving. Additionally, the club reportedly would allow him to leave for £50 million.
Everton would go above and beyond to keep him on the team for another year if they are successful in maintaining their Premier League status. Manchester United is one team that is considering signing him. Their manager, Erik, has a lot of admiration for the 21-year-old and will do anything to keep him on the team.
Since taking over as the Red Devils’ manager, the Dutch coach has accomplished wonders. To complement Casemiro in the middle of the field, he believes they still need a top-tier midfielder. Ten Hag is a huge fan of Onana’s skills. And he thinks the Belgian midfielder could assist Manchester United in moving forward.
The former Ajax manager is pleading with the board of Manchester United to sign the 21-year-old in the summer. It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag is successful in getting Onana to join his ranks with his £50 million offer.
