At the start of the January transfer window, Memphis Depay is anticipated to leave Barcelona.

Due to rumors that the player would like to return to Manchester United, the Spanish club is looking to sever the Dutch international’s contract to save money on his wages.

The attacking midfielder made a disappointing transition to Manchester United in 2015 after leaving PSV Eindhoven.

The 28-year-old has since made an impression in Barcelona and Lyon.

The Dutch international scored 13 goals in all competitions last season; it will be interesting to see if he wants to rejoin Manchester United in January.

The player is currently on international duty with the Netherlands, and he will be hoping to make a big impression in Qatar and land

In his 178 appearances for Lyon across all competitions, Depay notched 76 goals and 55 assists. Despite only making 41 appearances—many of them as a substitute—he has 14 goals and two assists for Barcelona.
