Date Change For Chelsea Vs. Manchester United

With two wins and two losses out of their first four games, Manchester United has had a mixed start to the Premier League season in 21/22.

After losing to Brentford and Brighton in their opening two games, Erik Ten Hag’s team was able to rebound against Liverpool and Southampton with 2-1 and 1-0 victories, respectively. The Chelsea away game’s original date has been changed, changing Manchester United’s hectic October itinerary.

The Premier League has confirmed that the top-tier match at Stamford Bridge will move from Sunday, October 23, to Saturday, October 22, by one day. The new kickoff time hasn’t been determined yet, though.

The Reds’ visit to Chelsea was chosen by Sky Sports to be broadcast live on British television on Sunday afternoon because it is a match that always draws interest.

In the identical matchup from the prior season, Jadon Sancho gave United the lead with his first Premier League goal for the team, but Jorginho’s penalty tied the game at 1-1.

After Kai Havertz missed multiple opportunities in the first half, Thomas Tuchel’s team enjoyed the advantage for the majority of the contest.

The Manchester derby will not be rescheduled and will instead be played at City’s Etihad Stadium on Sunday, October 2, at 14:00 BST, according to today’s other fixture announcement that concerns United.

The date was first changed to that day when the most recent round of TV selections was made, once more having been selected for a Sky Sports broadcast.

The Blues’ home game against FC Copenhagen had been slated for Tuesday, but that date has now been changed to Wednesday, October 5. At the time, it was still subject to change if City was drawn to play in the Champions League the following Tuesday.

To prepare for their home match against Arsenal on Sunday, the Red Devils will go to Leicester City on Thursday.
