Referee Al-Harbi was requested to sign Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick match ball. In their Saudi Pro League matchup against Al Wehda, the Al Nassr forward scored all four goals.
On Thursday night, however, he demonstrated his strength in front of the goal with a magnificent display of finishing.
At the King Abdulaziz Stadium, he scored his first goal in the 21st minute with a strong effort before adding a second goal just before halftime.
Al Nassr later finished off his 61st career hat trick by converting from the penalty spot after referee Al-Harbi called him for handball.
When Ronaldo scored his fourth and game-winning goal shortly after the hour mark, the 38,000-seat stadium’s 38,000 spectators erupted in their loudest SUI of the evening.
Additionally, Ronaldo’s 500th league goal made it a special night for him.
The Al Nassr captain also requested that the referee have his signature on the game ball after the final whistle to mark the occasion.
Unlike his 60th hat-trick ball, which belongs to his former Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho, he’ll probably keep this one.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Captaincy
Jaloliddin Masharipov, a midfielder for Al Nassr, recently discussed how the group handled Ronaldo’s immediate selection as captain.
The Uzbekistan international told Sports.ru that it would be “a little strange” if the other players led by Ronaldo.
“We anticipated it. Cristiano Ronaldo accepted the armband from our former captain without any issues. This, in my opinion, is the ideal answer. It can’t be any other way.
Ronaldo’s Special Treatment
Masharipov also denied allegations that the top scorer in Portugal’s history is receiving special treatment.
“Many people spread rumors about my departure from the team when [Cristiano] Ronaldo arrived. Numerous false reports surfaced, according to the 29-year-old.
“Will you give him the No. 7? was a common question I received before Cristiano’s arrival. How can you refuse to give it? He is Cristiano Ronaldo! Always show respect for such athletes! Many people believed that I would quit the team after I gave my number. Without any issues, I provided my phone number. There was no discussion of leaving. The club and the coach both wanted me on the team.
“I am under contract with the group. Only because Ronaldo arrived did I change my phone number. One of the top two players in the world is this guy. There is no need for extensive conversation.”
