Cristiano Ronaldo And His Agent Held Talks With United’s Board, Including Sir Alex Ferguson

After a dismal collective campaign the last time around, the Manchester United veteran is eager to terminate his second stint at Old Trafford sooner than initially anticipated.

The Manchester United executive had no question about Cristiano Ronaldo’s intentions after the player begged to be permitted to leave the team once more.

Following a prolonged summer hiatus for “family reasons,” the 37-year-old finally made his way back to United’s Carrington training center this week with his agent Jorge Mendes by his side. In an effort to find a resolution over his future, the two met with Sir Alex Ferguson and the United board together.

Ronaldo has not been for sale according to United’s viewpoint from the beginning, and the lack of interest in the striker has made their situation easier. A year before his lucrative contract was about to expire, Ronaldo reportedly threw United for a loop by requesting to be freed from it.

According to reports that United quickly rejected Ronaldo’s requests and reminded him that they still had plans for him and that they had not yet actually received any firm offers for him from any other team.

Ronaldo underwent a battery of medical examinations upon his return from a longer than anticipated holiday, and he then watched as Erik ten Hag’s United defeated National League team Wrexham 4-1 in a friendly matchup ahead of the upcoming season.

Since Ronaldo’s intention to quit United became known, there has been an unexpectedly small amount of interest in him. Bayern Munich, a major German club, was first mentioned as the favorite to recruit him, but CEO Oliver Kahn has since distanced the Bavarians from United’s number seven.

Ronaldo hasn’t lost his desire to leave Old Trafford a year earlier than anticipated, despite the unavailability of suitors. Unfortunately for him, United hasn’t changed its mind and won’t move.

This weekend, United has two games scheduled over two days. The first game is against Atletico Madrid, and the second is against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. A remote possibility exists that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will play in the second matchup against former rivals Real Madrid teammates.
