Arsenal suffers big setback with injury and the unavailability of players for today’s match.
A busy schedule of games is causing Arsenal to deal with several injury issues.
Emile Smith-Rowe, a star for Arsenal, will not play against Everton in the club’s Premier League matchup.
When the Gunners face Sean Dyche’s Everton on Sunday, they will be looking to get their winning streak back on track.
With a game left to play, Mikel Arteta’s team currently leads the Premier League standings by about five points over reigning champions Manchester City.
Arsenal, however, lose to City in the FA Cup in their most recent game.
However, 18 spots and 35 points separate the Gunners from their rival. Additionally, Frank Lampard lost his job due to Everton’s current four-game losing streak.
Smith Rowe, an Arsenal star, was not deemed fit enough to play, giving Dyche an advantage in his first game in charge of the Toffees.
Mikel Arteta on Emile Smith Rowe
According to Arteta, Smith Rowe wouldn’t be able to play against Everton at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old recently returned from groin surgery last month, but since then, his recovery has experienced a minor setback.
Arteta responded, “Not yet,” when asked if Smith Rowe would be available.
Thomas Partey’s participation, according to Arteta, has not yet been determined by the club.
The Ghanaian international could not finish the game at halftime of the team’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City due to a rib injury.
Arteta responded when asked about Partey: “Let’s see, that one is still a doubt.
“Let’s see how he arrives today and whether he can train with the team today, and then we’ll make a decision,” the coach said.
“He’s not ruled out, and it’s nothing major. But it was significant enough to take him out of the game [at the Etihad], which is a little unusual for Thomas. He should be okay, I hope.”
