Alphonso Davies’ transfer to Real Madrid.
Alphonso Davies is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, according to a report by the Spanish outlet MARCA. The 22-year-old fullback is willing to leave Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. And Los Blancos recently contacted the Bundesliga champions regarding a potential deal for him.
Since moving from Vancouver Whitecaps to Bayern Munich in January 2019, Alphonso Davies has advanced significantly. He was a budding winger as a teenager and continues to play a key role for the Canadian national team. However, he has excelled as one of the best fullbacks in the Bundesliga and a marauding left defender for Bayern Munich.
The 22-year-old’s market value has increased to €70 million in the meantime. Additionally, he had a strong 2022–2023 campaign, contributing three goals and eight assists in 38 appearances. But in light of recent remarks made by his agent, Davies’ future at Bayern Munich is uncertain. And during the summer transfer window, Real Madrid will try to wrest him away from the Bundesliga club.
Real Madrid has been keeping an eye on Davies for a while. For many years, the Merengues have kept a close eye on his development. But before this summer, there had never been an opportunity to hire him. And Real Madrid has quickly made the youngster their top target.
The inconsistent performances of Ferland Mendy have sparked interest in the Bayern Munich left-back. In recent years, the Frenchman’s performance levels have declined. He has also struggled with fitness throughout his time with Real Madrid. Furthermore, Los Blancos want to add another left-back even though they will re-sign Fran Garcia this summer.
Real Madrid could therefore pursue Davies. And the Spanish powerhouses have contacted Bayern Munich about the 22-year-old full-back. Despite his agent’s assertions, it’s not clear if the Bundesliga champions are prepared to let go of the Canadian international.
According to recent reports, Davies is eager to join Real Madrid. Los Blancos may speed up their efforts to wrest him away from the Bundesliga club now that they have made the initial move to sign him from Bayern Munich.
