To officially confirm that they have hired Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool released a statement. The versatile midfielder, 24, has committed to the Reds on a long-term basis. Additionally, it is said that Brighton & Hove Albion earned £35 million from the sale of the player.

It took Alexis Mac Allister some time to become well-known. But the Argentine international made his mark at the Amex Stadium, much like countless other Brighton success stories. In addition, he and his nation’s team won the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He also had a great 2022–23 season, scoring 12 goals and dishing out three assists in 40 appearances.

Numerous prestigious clubs were interested in Mac Allister’s development. But when the summer transfer window opened, Liverpool found itself in the lead race to sign the 24-year-old versatile midfielder. The deal for the Brighton midfielder has now been finalized by the Reds. They paid £35 million, his release clause, according to Fabrizio Romano, to secure him.

The official statement makes no mention of Mac Allister’s contract’s duration. However, numerous reports state that he has committed to the Merseyside club for five years. The Argentine midfielder has since expressed his happiness at joining Liverpool.

It feels incredible, Mac Allister exclaimed. It’s a dream come true to be here, it’s amazing, and I can’t wait to start. It’s good that everything has been completed because I wanted to play [from] the first day of preseason. I’m eager to get to know my teammates.

The 24-year-old versatile midfielder continued, “It was a fantastic year for me – World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and human being every day.”
