AC Milan vs Verona Preview and Prediction

The Rossoneri have nothing to play for because they have already secured a top-four finish for this season. Whatever the outcome of the game today, they will play in the Champions League.

Verona, on the other hand, is still very much in with a chance of avoiding relegation and is currently ranked 18th in the league table. If they succeed here, they might stay in the top division if the other outcomes go their way. The stakes are high for the visitors, who will be driven to pull off an upset in this game.

AC Milan

Milan will likely start with Mike Maignan in goal and their typical 4-2-3-1 formation.

The full-backs will be Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. They will try to maintain a strong defense and participate in counterattacks.

Alongside Fikayo Tomori, Malik Thiaw will start as the central defender.

Rade Krunic will start alongside Sandro Tonali in the central midfield position. The two players’ goals are to disrupt the opposition’s play and set up their side’s attacks.

Rafael Leao and Junior Messias will play on either side of central attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz. For the home team, Olivier Giroud will start at the head of the line.

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali; Messias, Diaz, Leao; Giroud

Verona

The visitors will be without Thomas Henry, Ajdin Hrustic, Josh Doig, Ondrej Duda, Kevin Lasagna, Darko Lazovic, and Pawel Dawidowicz due to a number of injury issues.

Lorenzo Montipo will start in goal for the visitors as they set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Isak Hien, Juan Cabal, and Giangiacomo Magnani will all start in the back three.

Here, the wing backs, Marco Faraoni and Fabio Depaoli, will start, and in addition to their defensive duties, they’ll try to set up opportunities for counterattacking. Adrien Tameze and Oliver Abildgaard will begin in the middle of the park.

Adolfo Gaich will be the attacking midfielder for the visitors, while Cyril Ngonge and Simone Verdi will play here.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Montipo; Magnani, Hien, Cabal; Faraoni, Tameze, Abildgaard, Depaoli; Ngonge, Verdi; Gaich

Prediction

AC Milan 2-1 Verona

The visitors will exert every effort to earn all three points and ensure their survival in the Italian top division. Although Milan is a much better team, they should be able to earn all three points in this match.
